What I learned about this project in terms of masks and selections is that you can you can use masks to only show a specific part of a image and selections to edit or change the image. I liked the effects you can make with the text and the background because they make the photo look more appealing. It was hard to make a selection because I used a plant for the subject which takes time to select getting all the leaves. This project relates to web design because you are able to express something in the photo by making certain changes to it. This project is important because we are able to practice more with using the masks, selections and adjustments in Photoshop.

Lab 5 Effects and Adjustments
-A Photoshop mask is a tool used in Photoshop that allows you to add a mask to a layer which hides or shows a part of the layer.
-We add a layer mask by first selecting the layer you want to mask, then select the area you want shown, then click the add layer mask that is located at the bottom of the layers palette.
-The difference between the quick mask mode and the standard mode is that in quick mask mode you can make a selection using the brush.
For this lab I switched me and my partners head making a bubble head image. The tools I used were Photo booth, Photoshop, move tool, quick mask mode, standard mode, add new layer, brush tool and I re-sized the heads.I did it by selecting the quick mask mode and painted over me and my partners face with the brush tool and then changed it to standard mode so it can get selected and added a layer mask. Then I swapped heads and re-sized them. This skill is useful because now I know how to edit the picture in a more realistic way using the Photoshop mask. I see myself using this knowledge in the future for my future labs, projects and for editing my own pictures.

HW Notetaking
How do we take notes?
We take notes by writing them on paper using a pen/a pencil. You write down the details that are important and need to know. Also you can write down side notes that you feel that you can use to study later that the teacher says and explains in detail. You can reword the notes into your own words for a better understanding of the topic.

HW Image Type
The Differences Between psd, gif, jpg, pdf, bmp, and png are:
-PSD is the default format that Photoshop uses for saving information. It allows users to work with the images layers after it has been saved. This allows you to continue your work on photoshop.
-GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format. It is a lossless format for image files that supports animated and static images. GIF supports color and various resolutions. It is a compressed image file format.
-JPG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group, it is not limited to a certain amount of color, like Gif images are. JPG format is best for compressing photographic images. It is commonly used for storing digital photos.
-PDF stands for Portable Document Format. It captures document text, fonts, images and formatting of documents from a variety of applications. You need Adobe Reader to view a PDF file. It preserve fonts and formatting electronically across multiple platforms and appear the same on screen as they do when printed.
-BMP format stores color data for each pixel in the image without using compression. That makes it high-quality and it produces large file sizes. Its often used for printable images. JPEG and GIF formats can decrease their file size and BMP can't because it isn't a compressed image file.
-PNG is a compressed raster graphic format. Its a popular choice for application graphics and is commonly used on the web. PNG images can't be animated and and it does not have any blurring that may appear in JPG images. It supports an alpha channel unlike the GIF and JPG formats. GIF images have a maximum of 256 colors while a PNG image may include over 16 million colors.

Lab 4 Image Adjustment part 2
In this lab, I changed the original image by making it black and white, replaced its color, changed its hue and increased the saturation each individually. The tools I used were Photoshop, move tool, and horizontal type tool. I did it by selecting an image and duplicated it 4 times. Then for each duplicated layers I changed it according to its label. I did it by going to image, clicked on image adjustments and changed it so that it is different from the original image. For one image I changed the saturation, for another image I changed its hue, for another image I changed it to black and white, then to the last image I replaced its color. This skill is useful because now I can change how an image looks if I don't like its color or want something different. I see myself using this knowledge in the future to help others change an image and to change my own pictures.

Lab 3 Image Adjustments
In this lab I selected the dog and duplicated it changing the hue, brightness and saturation and changed half of the background color. The tools I used were Photoshop, lasso tool, quick selection tool, move tool and horizontal type tool. I first selected the dog using the lasso and quick selection tool, then I duplicated the dog layer two times. Then I went to image adjustments to change the color of the dog and make it brighter or darker. Then I made the tree the dogs are standing on darker. This skill is useful because you can change how the picture looks with the same image. I see myself using this knowledge in the future when I am helping someone with Photoshop and in my future labs.

Lab 2 Melon Head
In this lab, I assembled a melon head from different types of fruit/vegetables. The tools I used in this lab was PSCS6, the elliptical marquee tool, the rectangular marquee tool, the horizontal type tool, the magnetic lasso tool, the regular lasso tool, the move tool, magic wand and quick selection tool. I first made selections of each individual fruit or vegetable and copied them, then used the move tool and resized the images to assemble a face. This skill is useful because now I have a variety of tools that I can use while I'm editing. So that makes me able to chose the tools I find best and easier to use to save time. I see myself using this knowledge in the future when I am editing pictures for my projects and labs.

Lab 1 Camera Angles
In this lab, I took pictures of different camera angles such as, landscape, portrait, eye level shot, close up, high level shot, and low point shot. The tools that I used is the camera, Photoshop, the move tool, horizontal type tool and I resized the images. I used the camera to take pictures of objects and places, then I imported the pictures that I took on the computer, then I went on Photoshop to place the images and label them. This skill is useful because I can use it for my other labs, projects and now I know the different camera angles and how to take them. I see myself using this knowledge in the future when I take pictures of my friends, family, objects and beautiful landscapes.

Color Scheme
I chose this particular color scheme because I like the way the colors go well with each other and felt like it reflects me. The colors suits each other nicely. The first dark bluish purple color represents a gloomy kind of sad mood. The second color represents the middle phase of a dark to light atmosphere. The base color which is purple represents my favorite color. The red color represents emotions of anger and love. The last color represents the tiredness and stress someone has. I chose the colors by making my base color purple because I really like the color and while I was adjusting how the color should look the rest of the colors got adjusted too. That's when I was also adjusting the other colors brightness and contrast and found a color scheme I liked that is shown above.

Selection Tools in PS
1) We make selections in photoshop using the magnetic lasso tool by starting at the edge of the image you want to select and freestyle as you continue to go around the edge of the image, and then when you finished free styling then you right click and press layer via copy.
2) We make selections in PS using the magic wand tool by first creating a new layer of the image you want to select and then using the magic wand tool you can click on the image and it selects a section for you and you can continue to add to the selection. You can also change the size of the magic wand tool to make it bigger or smaller.
3) We make selections in PS using the quick selection tool by quickly selecting the whole object that you want to select without going to the trouble of going around the edges and get a perfect selection.
