Project 6 Logo

My initial goals for my logo was to create a logo that is well suited for my origami business. One that when you look at it it reminds you of origami and stays in your head. My end goal for my logo was to make the connection between my logo and my company in an obvious way and to make the logo look nice and pretty. My logo represents origami that is unique because not everyone can do it and each comes out differently. It's not always perfect but you try your best for the final product. This is why I like how you can make things out of paper no matter who you are or what you are. That's how I came up with originality origami.  I chose to design my logo this way because whenever I think of origami a swan is most likely what comes up in my head. I like how the background color makes the image and text sort of stand out. Also it's easy to tell the connection between the two things. The graphic design principle I used were proximity/groupings, repetition of some shapes and the color of the shapes for the swan, emphasis and space.

Lab 9 Brushes Reflection Journal

In this lab I experimented with the different types of brushes in the brush tool. I went to file new, renamed it as lab9_sheimabegum_vd. I changed the preset to photoshop default size. I changed the width to 2100 pixels, the height to 1500 pixels, and the resolution to 300. Then I used the grid to make straight lines using the line tool to divide the document into sections. Then in each section, I used different types of the brush tool. I used the horizontal type tool to label each section with the type of brush I used. I went to the brushes panel, clicked the gear and selected all the brushes type there was and appended it.
I used the round point stiff, round blunt medium stiff, round curve, grass, starburst, concentric circles, cross hatch, mesh-large, oval, butterfly, soft oil pastel, veining feather, sea sponge, spatter, rough dry brush, wet brush, DP crackle, fuzzy cluster tight, pastel dark, dark shadow round, chalk brush, square char, chalk light, rough comb, falling ivy leaves, scattered maple leaves, sumo, azalea, cross hatch, texture 5, salty watercolor, wash w/ bleed, and ornament 1 brushes. I can use these tools in the future to go over the pictures with the brush tool and for my future labs and projects.

Lab 8 Vector Shapes Reflection Journal

In this lab, I used the vector shape tools to make different shapes. I used the grid and line tool to make divide it into sections for each shape. Then I used the polygon tool to make polygons with 5, 8,3 and 6 sides. I used the rectangle tool to draw 2 rectangles. I used the rounded rectangle tool to make 2 rounded rectangles. I used the custom shape tool to make different shapes. I went to the custom tool panel, clicked the gear and clicked append. I used the horizontal type tool to label each shape according to what it is.
The shapes I made was a dark pentagon, purple oval, grey and brown check box, red clock, dark red star, blue raindrop, light purple octagon, black triangle, light rectangle, dark green snowflake, purple bird, green bunny, red not allowed sign, light blue heart, green arrow, yellow rounded rectangle, grey rectangle, pink oval, blue hexagon, dark colored fish, light scissors, black envelope, blue lightbulb, violet music note, brown bone, blue bubble, dark colored gem, black and purple flower, brown crown, grey bow, light purple/blue key, yellow butterfly, violet trophy, green rounded rectangle, and my name. These tools are useful because now I know how to make many different shapes and how to change the color and border. I can use these skills in the future for projects and labs.

Lab 7 Filters Reflection

In this lab I altered the images using the filter. First I went to File-new and named it as Lab7_sheimabegum_vd. I changed the preset to Default Photoshop Size. I changed the unit for the height and width to pixels. I changed the width to 504, the height to 360 and the resolution to 150. I placed a picture of a person and re-sized the image by pressing down the shift key from the corner. I placed another image, re-sized it by pressing down the shift key from the corner, and duplicated it 4 times. So in total there are 6 pictures. I made the images parallel to each other by using the grid. I renamed the person image as liquify and I went to filter-liquify and made one of his eye bigger, the other eye smaller, made one of his cheeks smaller, and bloated his forehead and chin.
Then I went to the next image and renamed it as distort. I went to filter-distort-pinch and distorted the image. Then I went to the next image and renamed it as pixelate. On that image I went to filter-pixelate-blur and pixelated the image. Then on the bottom left image I went to filter and used the oil paint and renamed the layer as oil paint. On the bottom middle picture I went to filter-stylish-diffuse and renamed the layer as diffuse. On the bottom right picture I went to filter-sharpen, sharpened the image and renamed the layer as sharpen. I used the horizontal type tool to write the type of filter that I used for each picture. Then selecting the background layer I went to filter-render-clouds. And then I saved my work. I see myself using this knowledge in the future to alter pictures that I will use in my future projects.
